The Green Fairy

Journey into the realm of absinthe and the Green Fairy.
Absinthe was a popular alcoholic drink in late 19th- and early 20th-century France, particularly among Parisian artists and writers. Believed to be a dangerously addictive psychoactive drug, absinthe was banned in the US and most European countries by 1915.

"Let me be mad...mad with the madness of Absinthe, the wildest, most luxurious madness in the world."
~Marie Corelli, 1890

Evidence has shown that it is no more dangerous than any other alcoholic drink and a revival of absinthe began in the 1990s in the European Union. US distillation resumed in 2007.
