Pop Art is a genre of art that began in the United Kingdom in the 1950s and became popular in the United States in the 1960s. This style uses imagery from popular or mass culture such as newspapers, comics and consumer goods combined with techniques from commercial art and advertising. Well known Pop artists include Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, and Roy Lichtenstein.
